Health & safety when travelling
Your health and safety are part of the planning. Here’s a general guide to the medical and safety considerations for popular travel regions.
Always consult your doctor or travel clinic at least 6–8 weeks before departure.
Vaccinations by region
East Africa: Yellow fever (required), Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Malaria prophylaxis
Southeast Asia: Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis (rural), Malaria (some areas)
Europe: Routine vaccinations up to date. No special requirements for most countries.
Indian Ocean Islands: Hepatitis A, Typhoid recommended. No malaria in Mauritius or Seychelles.
